Air Ambulance and Emergency Medical Flights

Hawkins Field provides direct access to the Jackson hospitals and trauma units. Critical medical transport services are provided by air ambulance and helicopter to and from Hawkins
Field. Patients, doctors, transplant materials and medicines are transported via air
when time is the vital factor.

Police and Public Safety Flights

The Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol maintains a full time presence at Hawkins Field carrying out their own missions and assisting law enforcement agencies from throughout the state from Tupelo to Gulfport.

Mississippi Department of Public Safety and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics also base their interdiction aircraft at Hawkins Field.
